Ikea Solid Beech Wood Crib

This crib is definitely not the fanciest or most luxurious-looking option, but that’s honestly part of why we liked it. It’s made from solid beech with a simple natural finish, and when we set it up, it didn’t have that strong furniture smell that so many cribs seem to have.
It also feels surprisingly sturdy and well constructed for the price. There are no decorative extras or unnecessary materials—just a simple solid-wood crib that does what it needs to do. We would rather spend less on something straightforward and well made than pay more for a prettier crib covered in paint or mystery finishes.
• Made primarily from solid beech wood
• Two adjustable mattress-height positions (conversion piece is included)
• One railing side can be removed for use as a toddler bed
• Ventilated crib base allows for airflow
• Fits a standard 27½ x 52-inch crib mattress
• Meets the U.S. federal crib safety standard
It is not trying to be a showpiece, but it still looks clean and sturdy. We couldn’t find anywhere on IKEA’s website that the wood is officially unfinished or untreated, but it certainly feels very bare and natural.
